On its 96th birthday, convenience store chain 7-Eleven launched its first Slurpee NFT. This limited edition digital collectible celebrates the iconic Slurpee drink and allows fans to own it. With the growing popularity of NFTs, 7-Eleven embraces blockchain, offering customers an innovative way to engage with the brand.
“We’re always looking for new and creative ways to celebrate with our customers on our favorite day of the year” Marissa Jarratt, 7-Eleven Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer stated in a press release.
The digital collectible game is exclusively accessible on mobile devices. It showcases a virtual 7-Eleven Slurpee cup and offers four flavors: Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Pina Colada, and Summertime Citrus. Marissa Jarratt mentioned the possibility of gaining inspiration for “future flavors” from the game’s players. Collectors can select all flavors in any sequence to create their ideal Slurpee mix.
How to Claim the NFT?
Once collectors fill the cup, they have two options: claim their “Slurpee Vibe Digital Collectible” or return to the previous screen to start over.
If happy with their creation, collectors can choose “claim now” and proceed to the next step. Collectors must then provide their name, email address, and telephone number. Collectors will receive a six-digit code via email to collect the Slurpee NFT, which can be stored in a newly created wallet on the Polygon blockchain.
The Slurpee app refers to “digital collectibles” instead of explicitly mentioning NFTs.
