Meta is actively engaged in the development of brain-scanning technology that can rapidly convert brain activity into detailed and vibrant imagery. The AI system employed by Meta is capable of capturing thousands of brain activity measurements per second.
These measurements are used to visualize the brain signals in image generation accordingly. “Overall, these results provide an important step towards the decoding in real time of the visual processes continuously unfolding within the human brain.” The report said.
This new AI technology will employ magnetoencephalography (MEG) for real-time visualization of brain signals. The MEG technique is non-invasive and enables researchers to visualize brain activity by calculating the magnetic field generated by neuronal activity.
This AI system has three components.

- Brain Encoder
- Image Decoder

The concept of Mind-reading is not new as it has been explored by multiple entities, including the University of California, which integrated this technology into an experiment. In that experiment, they demonstrated the ability to create music by utilizing AI with brain signals.
