Amazon has introduced a new tool for building and scaling generative AI applications. This new service, called Amazon Bedrock, aims to provide businesses and developers with a cloud-based and customizable platform for creating their very own AI tools.
This new platform grants Amazon customers access to the latest Foundation Models (FMs) by partnering with notable AI companies such as AI21 Labs, Anthropic, and Stability AI. Along with third-party FMs, Bedrock users can access Amazon’s proprietary Titan Foundation Models.
Customers can utilize these models to create AI-powered applications for performing various tasks. Some of the initial applications involve generating texts, converting texts into images, producing highly responsive chatbots, image classification, and more.
According to a statement released by Amazon, ”Bedrock makes the power of FMs accessible to companies of all sizes so that they can accelerate the use of ML across their organizations and build their own generative AI applications because it will be easy for all developers”.
What Makes Amazon Bedrock Unique?
Amazon believes the service will stand apart in the market thanks to its easy-to-use interface and customization features. Even with relatively small volumes of data, Bedrock will customize the foundation model to suit the particular need of a company.
And Amazon ensures that the data will remain on a customer’s Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), meaning the data will be confidential. Amazon Bedrock is currently available on a limited preview on Amazon Web Services. The company expects a more widespread distribution sometime this year.
