The new BLIP app offers private and secure communication using the Hexum encryption algorithm and the Lightning Network for Bitcoin.
- BLIP, a brand-new encrypted messaging platform powered by Bitcoin, was introduced at the Adopting Bitcoin conference. BLIP has not yet been made available to the public. The group behind BLIP also produced Hexum. Compared to typical end-to-end (E2E) encrypted applications, it is a multilayer proprietary encryption technique that offers better and more secure communication.
- Alejandro Moishundt, a national security consultant in El Salvador, co-founder of BLIP, and the founder of High Voltage, informed Bitcoin Magazine, “WhatsApp and Signal use one static private key. Hexum’s encryption method gives you a private key for every message or every interaction. So hacking is very difficult.”
- Anybody with an email address and a password may begin using BLIP. In addition, each new BLIP user is assigned an address and a hash file that may be used as a backup in case something goes wrong with the account.
- The BLIP Freedom app is a bot-run platform for organizing mass-scale information campaigns. Concerned with right to peaceful assembly, it safeguards people’s online communications with common interests.
- The goal of BLIP Freedom is to launch a channel where others can join and crowdfund projects. Only a supermajority vote (75%) of channel users handled by the bot can ban someone from a channel.
