- The stablecoin allows P2P transfers without paying gas fees.
- Sun expects the stablecoin solution to be a game-changer in blockchain adoption.
Tron founder Justin Sun has said his team is building a gas-free stablecoin. The stablecoin solution seeks to provide free peer-to-peer transfers. In an X post, Sun revealed:
“Transfers can be made without paying any gas tokens, with the fees being entirely covered by the stablecoins themselves.”
The Tron founder expects to integrate the gasless stablecoin on the Tron chain in the fourth quarter, followed by Ethereum and other Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible networks.
Tron chain is the market leader in peer-to-peer stablecoin transfers and processes up to 2-3 times the volume of the second-placed Ethereum chain.

Gas-Free Stablecoin Solutions To Increase Blockchain Adoption
Sun says gasless stablecoins will enable large companies to deploy stablecoin services, increasing blockchain adoption.
PayPal’s PYUSD is the other solution, which allows certain US users to enjoy free cross-border payments. Circle’s USD coin also allows free transfers on Ethereum Layer-2 via Coinbase wallet.
The latest announcement comes after in February this year, Sun said Tron was considering a Bitcoin Layer-2 solution. The L2 will support a “wrapped” version of Tether that is expected to facilitate billions of dollars in movement into the Bitcoin ecosystem.
