OpenAI plans to expand into the education sector to assist students and teachers by providing them with Special tutor prompts. Despite the negative comments that are already circulating, ChatGPT is now being introduced to classrooms, and there is a possibility that it may be misused.
Soon, the company will release a guide for “Teachers using ChatGPT in their classroom, including suggested prompts, an explanation of how ChatGPT works and its limitations, the efficacy of AI detectors, and bias.” OpenAI also shared a few stories about how educators use ChatGPT to accelerate student learning.
Teachers will have access to a new tool that will aid them in creating exam questions, quizzes, and lesson plans. “If you go to ChatGPT and ask it to create 5 question exams about electric circuits, the results are very fresh. You can take these ideas and make them your own,” said Fran Bellas, a professor at Universidade da Coruña in Spain.
Numerous educators believe that this tool can aid in instructing students about responsible internet usage while enhancing their critical thinking skills. “Understand the importance of constantly working on their original critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills,” said Geetha Venugopal.
OpenAI has already shared “Example prompts to get you started” to enable individuals to gain a better understanding of this imaginative tool designed for the educational sector.
ChatGPT and other AI agents are sure to be a constant in education, though there is unfortunately a great potential for misuse. To fully benefit from their educational experience, students and teachers must consider technology a useful resource and incorporate it into their learning approach.
