Priceline, an online travel agency, plans to introduce an advanced chatbot for trip planning and personalized hotel recommendations.
“Don’t know where you want to go? This tool will help you narrow that down pretty quickly,” Priceline CEO Brett Keller told CNBC.
Martin Brodbeck, Priceline’s CTO, stated that the online travel agency intends to unveil an enhanced chatbot for trip planning and hotel recommendations that resemble “a personal concierge” customised for each user.
“You can easily find out that in Bryant Park, there’s a Christmas market that runs from early November through the beginning of January when you’re actually booking your hotel,” he added.
Google Cloud And Priceline
Google Cloud will use similar generative AI behind ChatGPT to communicate with its users. The tool will extract information such as hotel prices from data to ensure accuracy.
Google sees leveraging AI as a potential strategy to narrow the gap with its competitors Amazon and Microsoft. Historically, Google has been a distant third in the market for cloud services such as data storage.
Priceline’s adoption of innovative technology on its website could enhance its competitive position against numerous platforms that promote travel options. This move comes as some of these platforms investigate consumer responses to AI.
