Stripe, one of the largest payment service providers, announced the launch of a Stripe-hosted fiat-to-crypto onramp. The move makes it easier for Web3 companies to help US-based customers purchase crypto.
Stripe introduces an onramp solution to help companies offer seamless cryptocurrency purchase experiences to their customers. With this onramp, customers can purchase digital currency at the exact time they need it. Stripe now offers two implementation options:
- The embeddable onramp, which developers can easily insert into their website or app with just ten lines of code, and
- The Stripe-hosted onramp at crypto.link.com, is an effortless way for US-based customers to get started.
An embeddable onramp is a good option for Web3 companies that want complete control over branding and customer experience. On the other hand, the Stripe-hosted option provides an even more straightforward way for users to get started.
Stripe And Web3 Companies
The Stripe-hosted onramp is being utilized by several Web3 companies to enable their users to buy crypto easily and directly into their self-custody wallets. Brave, Safe, 1inch, and Lens Protocol are among the companies using Stripe’s onramp. Using the onramp, they can reduce the barrier between Web2 and Web3 and provide seamless experiences for their customers.
“With our onramp options, Web3 companies can now outsource a bunch of the very important but tricky pieces to Stripe—things like conversion and auth optimization, identity verification, fraud prevention, and so on. This allows companies to focus on what’s unique to their business, and helps their customers start using Web3 services quickly and safely,” said Guillaume Poncin, head of engineering for crypto at Stripe.
