“Airdrop Confirmed” was tweeted by the Ukrainian Government on March 2.
With the news of an Airdrop to give back to wallets who have donated to Ukraine in support of the military, microdonations have swamped their ETH wallet. With donations ranging from a mere 0.0001 ETH to 0.01 ETH (US$0.30 to US$30).
The number of unique wallets that donated after the announcement has also surpassed the number of unique wallets that donated before the announcement.
The snapshot of the wallets will be taken on March 3rd at 6pm Kyiv time.
This means there is still another day until the participating wallets are confirmed. Over 25,000 wallets have donated to the cause, and a majority were in the last day.
Ukraine could combat the microdonators who only donated because of the promise of something in return could be to restrict eligible wallets to those who donated above a certain amount.
Despite this fact, it may have been a calculated move from the Ukrainian government. Small donations add up in the end and adding an incentive to donate, as shown by the graph above, grabs a lot more attention than just asking for donations out of pure kindness.
