Elon Musk, the founder of X and Tesla, has recently unveiled a generative AI chatbot called “Grok”. This latest development comes following the massive success of OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT, a company that Musk himself co-founded. This AI was developed by xAI, a startup founded by Musk in March 2023.
According to xAI, Grok has a few characteristics that separate it from its competitors. The company states on its website that “Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak, so please don’t use it if you hate humor!”. Musk himself claimed on X (formerly called Twitter), that the AI is “based and loves sarcasm”.

Advantage Of Grok
An advantage Grok will have over other chatbots is its real-time access to X. This will allow it to learn from huge amounts of data without potentially violating copyright laws. The AI is powered by Grok-1, a large language model (LLM) developed by xAI this year.
“We want Grok to serve as a powerful research assistant for anyone, helping them to quickly access relevant information, process data, and come up with new ideas.”, the company stated regarding the purpose behind this chatbot.
Grok(generative AI chatbot) is currently only available to premium+ users of X in the United States.
