Highly-anticipated Cardano’s Vasil Upgrade Launch Date Is Finally Released

After a long haul, IOHK, the technology company contracted to design and develop Cardano has confirmed the launch date of the Cardano’s Vasil upgrade, an upgrade that will improve the network’s performance and experience.

• 22nd of September is the date that Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) has announced the day for Cardano’s Vasil Upgrade to occur. In a tweet, they confirmed that the community is ready and that all core components were tested victoriously.

• The firm assures that this upgrade will “optimize the ledger to facilitate efficient development for a range of new applications”. Some of the major enhancements are increased throughput, script efficiency, and faster block transmission.

• Cardano Vasil Hard Fork Upgrade’s launch date was initially set on June 29th, but it was put off multiple times due to technical issues.

• Some conditions need to be met before pulling the trigger to initiate this update. IOHK needs to be confident that the community, exchanges, DApps, and SPO are prepared for it.

• The firm used many indicators to measure The Hard Fork’s readiness. For instance, 75% of mainnet blocks are being created using node version 1.35.3. Another indicator is that approximately 25 of the most popular exchanges support Cardano to ensure there is sufficient liquidity. The last metric is that at least 10 of the most used DApps are also upgraded.

• Charles Hoskinson considers this Hard Fork Update as the most significant Cardano update since smart contracts. He assures the community that this is the major upgrade to Plutus (Cardano’s native smart contract language) and that will massively scale up the network while maintaining the security and quality people come to know and love in the Cardano Ecosystem.
