Micron Technology said in a filing with the SEC that it has appointed Manish Bhatia as president and chief operating officer and Dr. Scott DeBoer as president and chief technology and products officer, effective immediately.
The company said the appointments are designed to strengthen its execution, innovation and long-term growth strategy as demand grows for additional and higher-performance memory across markets and customers.
In his new role, Bhatia will lead Micron's global operations and business units and will be accountable for the company's operating profit and loss, including capital investment, manufacturing execution, and customer demand, pricing and delivery.
DeBoer will be responsible for advancing Micron's memory and storage roadmap, accelerating innovation to meet customer requirements, and overseeing Micron Research Labs, described as a global flagship research hub for breakthrough memory and compute technologies.
Sanjay Mehrotra, chairman and chief executive officer, said the announcement is about ensuring the organization is strategically aligned to meet customer needs in an AI-enabled future, and credited Bhatia and DeBoer for their contributions to Micron's growth, technology leadership and operational excellence.
Sumit Sadana, who had served as executive vice president and chief business officer, has transitioned to a new role as Senior Advisor to the CEO. Mehrotra thanked Sadana for his years of leadership and contributions to the company.
According to the filing, Bhatia joined Micron in 2017 and has overseen manufacturing and factory construction, supply chain, procurement, quality, information technology, artificial intelligence and global government affairs. DeBoer joined Micron in 1995 and has led the development and delivery of 15 technology nodes during his tenure.
