Robinhood Brings Zero-Fee Crypto Trading to UK Investors

Robinhood Brings Zero-Fee Crypto Trading to UK Investors
  • Eligible UK customers can now trade more than 50 cryptocurrencies directly through the Robinhood app.
  • The launch could increase competition among cryptocurrency trading providers in the UK market.

Robinhood has launched crypto trading in the UK, a report reveals. This initiative is expected to allow eligible customers to buy and sell more than 50 digital assets such as Bitcoin, XRP, and Ethereum directly through its app.

A new wave of UK investors sees digital assets as an important part of a diversified portfolio. With today’s launch, we’re taking another major step toward becoming the all-in-one investment platform for the UK.

– Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood U.K. Ltd and GM of Bitstamp UK Ltd

The service, operated through Bitstamp UK Ltd, joins Robinhood’s other investment offerings, such as shares ISAs, equities, options and futures.

The product will offer zero trading, account maintenance and custody fees, positioning it as a lower-cost alternative to conventional UK crypto platforms.

This expansion aims to strengthen Robinhood’s UK crypto ecosystem, which also includes its Arbitrum-based Robinhood Chain. Since the global launch on 1 July, the network has recorded more than $18 billion in DEX trading volume and more than $840 million in total value locked.

What Robinhood’s UK Expansion Means for Crypto Adoption

Robinhood’s entry comes as crypto ownership in the UK remains significant, although a recent study indicates that ownership dropped from 12% of adults in 2024 to 8% in 2025. This launch could therefore give existing users another mainstream platform for accessing cryptocurrencies, while potentially increasing competition among crypto trading providers.

The timing also coincides with the UK’s move towards a comprehensive regulatory framework for cryptoassets. The Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) final rules were published in June 2026, and the new regime is expected to take effect from October 2027.

These developments could shape how consumers engage with crypto as the market becomes more established.
