Tesla reported third-quarter GAAP operating income of $0.7 billion and net income of $0.8 billion, the electric vehicle maker said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Non-GAAP net income came in at $1.7 billion, with total revenue of $28.0 billion for the quarter.
The company generated $6.3 billion in operating cash flow and $1.5 billion in free cash flow during the quarter, while cash and investments rose by $1.9 billion to $45.4 billion. Tesla said it achieved its second consecutive quarter of trailing-twelve-month revenue above $100 billion.
Total vehicle production reached 464,391 units, up 4% year over year, while deliveries fell 2% to 486,532. The company said it produced and delivered its 10 millionth vehicle during the quarter and recorded its largest backlog for passenger vehicles in four years. Record quarterly deliveries were achieved in Canada, Australia, Japan and Taiwan, alongside record production at Gigafactory Berlin.
Tesla began deploying Cybercabs into its Robotaxi fleet in Austin on September 3, and said cumulative unsupervised Robotaxi miles grew eightfold quarter over quarter, reaching nearly two million miles by quarter end. The company rolled out an updated Tesla Semi produced at its Nevada facility and unveiled the Next Gen Roadster on October 15. Battery availability remained the limiting factor on auto production volumes, Tesla said, even as it made progress securing future supply.
In its energy business, Tesla said demand for energy storage remained strong, with its highest-ever order rate and backlog. Megafactory Texas began production with planned capacity of 50 GWh, and the company shipped its first Megapacks built entirely with LFP cells from its Nevada factory.
