Expand Energy Names Danny Brown as President and CEO

Expand Energy Corporation said in a filing with the SEC that its Board of Directors has appointed Daniel E. Brown as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 26.

Brown will also join the company's Board of Directors. Michael A. Wichterich, who has served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since February 2026, will return to his role as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.

Chairman Wichterich said Brown has deep industry experience, a track record of leading organizations through transformation, and an ability to create shareholder value. He said Brown would help accelerate the company's momentum as North America's leading integrated natural gas company.

Brown said Expand Energy has a scaled portfolio of assets in major gas-producing regions along with a commercial platform serving customers from coast to coast. He pointed to LNG exports, growing power demand and new industrial investment as factors creating a need for reliable energy, and said he looks forward to turning the company's advantages into performance for shareholders.

Brown previously served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a board member of Chord Energy, where he led a strategic portfolio transformation. He spent nearly 20 years at Anadarko Petroleum in leadership roles spanning international and deepwater development as well as U.S. onshore operations.

The appointment followed a search led by Expand Energy's Board with the assistance of a search firm, which evaluated both internal and external candidates. Expand Energy describes itself as North America's leading integrated natural gas company and the largest natural gas producer in the United States.
