What is the DAX?
Germany's benchmark index — forty large companies listed in Frankfurt, tracked as a total-return index that counts reinvested dividends.
We never publish the index level; it is not our data. What you can trade is EWG, the iShares MSCI Germany ETF; the chart below is EWG via TradingView. EWG tracks the broad German market (MSCI Germany), not the DAX's own forty names.
The line runs 43.88 USD on 10 August through 41.60 USD on 6 November, on a scale from 40 to 46. Days the market did not trade hold the previous close, flat.
