About the fund

Vanguard Utilities ETF seeks to track the performance of the MSCI US Investable Market Index (IMI)/Utilities 25/50, which consists of large, mid-size, and small U.S. companies in the utilities sector. The fund uses an indexing approach by investing most of its assets in the same stocks and proportions as those in the target index. The index includes electric, gas, and water utilities, as well as independent power producers, energy traders, and companies involved in renewable electricity generation and distribution. The fund is nondiversified, meaning it may concentrate its investments in fewer issuers than diversified funds.
