The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the Consumer Staples Select Sector Index. The Fund uses a replication strategy, typically investing in substantially all of the securities in the Index in similar proportions. The Index includes companies from the S&P 500 that are classified as consumer staples, such as those in food products, beverages, household products, tobacco, and personal care products, as determined by the Global Industry Classification Standard. The Index is maintained and calculated by S&P Dow Jones Indices using a modified market capitalization methodology.
